This was child's play compared to some of the stuff I've done.

BTW, the problem is fixed. I ran a new (3 wire) cable, made sure everything was grounded, and put in a new circuit breaker (one of the circuits had a 20 amp breaker, when it should have had a 15 amp breaker).

Luke, I rewired 90% of my house about 3 years ago. We had the thinner substandard double wires. I found out that half the house was on one circuit and up in the attic two wires at the start of that circuit were barely held together by a very tiny clip. That was definitely a disaster just waiting to happen! All is fine and safe now. I was able to keep all the drywall damage to my room which is surrounded by the bathroom and kitchen. I did have to put a few holes in the upstairs floor but no one lives up there anyway (too hot). In other areas I was able to use the old wiring to pull the new wiring.
