Nice to know that we're not alone. I have that dream all the time. Sometimes it takes place in high school or even middle school. The scenario is usually pretty much the same. I forgot to take a required class and, thus, can't get my diploma. Or, I failed to complete a needed assignment (e.g. a term paper).

I've even had the one where I determine, 25 years after the fact, that I didn't have the proper credits needed to graduate - afraid I'll be "found out."

Must be a Freudian thing...

I've had the same dream myself once in a while.

Must be part of the human psyche.

Oh, man, that one's *always* turning up. I'm to the point now where when I'm in that dream I recognize it and start explaining it to the dream people around me.

Same basic deal -- I've forgotten my class schedule, or have forgotten to take a whole class for weeks at a time, or something similar. It's usually high school (and usually the one I went to before I moved my sophomore year -- this is very important for some reason).

A fun variation I often get is it's twenty years later (the present, in other words), and someone's figured out that I didn't really have enough credits to graduate from high school, so everything in my life since then hasn't "counted." I've got to go back and make it up. And of course, everyone I went to high school with is still there. But I'm always aware that it's 2006 and I own a house and so on.

Come to think of it - I even had it one time where I *did* have to go back because it was determined that I didn't complete the program. And if that wasn't insane enough, I ended up back in something like the 5th grade (at my current age)!

I got that letter too.

I haven't had that dream in a while. I DO still have dreams that I have an orchestra concert and I totally forgot about it. I did that in real life once, and I was absolutely horrified. Luckily it was a daytime matinee thing for a school group by a school orchestra, so it wasn't my job, but it was bad enough.

I did miss a final once, but it wasn't because I forgot about it. The schedule had changed without me realizing it, so I thought it was on the wrong day. Luckily there was no problem with taking the make-up exam the next day.

I actually JUST had that dream the other night (and I got the stupid letter after the fact) and I figured out that I hadn't really earned the credits I needed to in order to graduate. I was especially freaked out that if my work found out they'd fire me.

I think in general I'm always afraid that I don't "deserve" success or something. Like I've just gotten lucky to be where I am, not that I earned it. I think that's what the dream stems from.
