Does summer always come so late to Wisconsin? Even in this desert weather that the entire country is going through?

[Aug 4, 07:48] Terry
The seasons are astronomical events, not meteorological ones. Summer starts the same time it always does: the summer solstice.

Besides, this is Wisconsin, not fucking Alaska. We get weather similar to most any other state along the 45th parallel.

People that ask "You got snow there?" in May and September really piss me off.

I'll give you September, but we *have* had snow in May. And it isn't *that* unusual.

True. I recall seeing fresh snow in May and October. But it's not the norm, and it pisses me off that some people are ignorant enough to think it is.

Funny 'nuf, when I lived in Alaska, ya'll in Wisconsin got tons more snow than I did. It's the same with every area of the country, though, people assume stuff... "You're from New Mexico? So, this is the first time you've seen snow, huh?" "Isn't it dark, like, 24 hours a day in Alaska?" etc. etc.

Terry, just repeat after me, "people are stupid. they can't help it. people are stupid" That should help the frustration.
