[Apr 9, 21:17]Ruppert Cygwin/X is very useful. Especially over a LAN, X works very well - I have my LCD monitor hooked up to my Windows computer, and I log in to my Gentoo machine remotely through Cygwin/X instead of having another monitor.
X seems to work very well over a high bandwidth connection like 100Mbps LAN. Even with a high resolution desktop with a decent color depth, I notice very little lag using this remote setup.
