Meat is expensive.

But then again everything in Illinois expensive... fucking expensive!

I hate that God-damned state....

And lets not get started on driving in the Chicago area...

Sounds like you had fun though. I've been to the Sears Tower...Museum of Science and Industry would have been cool. I was there what seems like many moons ago ('86). I'm certain a lot has changed since then. =)

Yay! I love Chicago!

I've always been more impressed with the John Hancock building than the Sears Tower. JH's view of Michigan Ave is just beautiful - esp at night. When we were there last year we missed the last elevator to the observatory, so we told them we wanted to go upstairs for drinks. We just looked around and then came back down.

As for the Museum of Science and Industry, if you haven't been there for awhile, you may want to rethink it. It's full of kids and exhibits for kids.

Other than "it's rush hour all day" on parts of certain freeways (ie, the Eisenhower), I don't mind driving in Chicago at all. My mom goes crazy, however.

I think the last time I was at the MoSaI it was 1991. Hmm.

Speaking of expensive, tax at dinner was something like 10.5%. We both did a double take.

Doh!! 10.5%...That's pretty steep...

The last time we were driving in the Chicago area, everything was so poorly marked that it made it damn near impossible to try to find where we were going and of course there were plenty of idots on the road that made it that much more fun. Next time Terry will drive...

Reminds me of when we were in San Fransisco...dirty as hell but the roads were well marked which made for a more pleasurable driving experience.

I've driven and ridden in Chicago enough to not really have to worry much about where I'm going.

I've actually found a lot of roads in Madison poorly marked, even though I know where I'm going.

I wrote down the daisy-chain of highways to get through there to 90, and I still have to refer to it. Going through there by myself definitely built up my confidence level, but I STILL hate it. Especially around Schaumburg, all of those stupid ramps that cross exiting ramps. Ack!
