Next stop Phoenix! right?

If I remember the numbering system for the Interstate right, I-99 should in theory not only be in the Atlantic somewhere, but off the coast of Maine somewhere, not in Pennsylvania.

I'd happily drive to AZ if it weren't so damn far away.

And, yes, Terry, you are correct. Odd numbers go north and south, even go east and west. Numbers go up from West to East and South to North. Multiples of 5 are "primary" routes that go across the country.

I could go on...

So you're an interstate geek too?

When I was a wee tadpole, my immediate (nuclear, as it were) family lived in upstate New York and all the other relatives in Iowa. So there were at least a few looooooong car trips every year. I freakin' learned to read from the maps, exit signs, billboards and so forth. (Plus I have a lifelong car obsession I think I can blame on that as well.)

Interstates are cool.

Yes, indeed I am.

Other fun stuff...houses on the side of I-76 going in to Denver. NY-17 (now an I) half done, with only grading and some bridge supports on the other lanes (when we drove it in the early '90s, they had apparently run out of money).
