Note to stupid idiot homeowners: Do not water your lawn in the middle of the day when it's sunny and 90 degrees out unless you love wasting water and don't care about your lawn.

So it looks like the Condor Project wants to interview me. Hopefully everything goes well with that. Wish me luck.

I don't think I like this new Blogger interface.

NO MORE SEARS.

I'd like to know why we dream certain things. Often, for whatever reason, I'll dream I'm in high school. Or, such as last night, I'll dream I'm in college and I forgot something. Last night it was the end of the semester and I realized I hadn't been to one of my classes since the last exam. One which (in my dream) Zach was in, which makes it all the more strange.

It's nice to wake up and go "oh, wait, I graduated."

Sosa homers in first game back, is roundly booed

How fucking stupid are people today? I could understand such a reaction if, say, all of his bats were found to have cork in them. But the only one with cork was the one he broke. If he was really some big cheat, don't you think he'd have more than a single illegal bat?

People are morons (to steal a line from the old Badger Herald comic of the same name).

So, I finally told Sears to shove it. Well, not in as many words, but I gave them a week's notice - this will be my last week there. Besides the shit pay and stupid customers, I got really sick of shoving extended warranties down people's throats and then getting yelled at when I didn't shove hard enough.

Friday night we went to the drive-in to see 2 Fast 2 Furious and Bruce Almighty. Neither was very good, but the really pathetic thing was that 2 Fast 2 Furious was actually *better* than Bruce Almighty. At least the former was funny to laugh at. The latter was just, well, annoying.

While at the drive-in, I decided I needed some bug spray. Brian had brought both OFF Skintastick and some type of 100% DEET. I sprayed most of my exposed skin with the OFF, and then thought I'd use some of the DEET on my socks. Well, I sprayed one side, but when I turned the bottle around to spray the other side, the nozzle turned away from my leg - and directly at my face. I managed to squirt 100% DEET directly into my right eye. Amy noted that she's never seen me take out a contact that fast before. IT BURNED. I'm still amazed that my contact didn't melt or something. Luckily, after a few minutes of cleaning both my eye and my contact with water, everything was fine.

Last night we went to Josh and Heather's Hawaii party. Liquor and pulled pork. Yum.

I think that's all for now. I have to get ready for one more shitty week at Sears.

I had to ring up a gift card for someone yesterday.

Expiration date: 1/1/3025

Something tells me the magnetic strip won't last quite that long.

The garage is once again capable of holding a car. This is good.

We saw The Matrix: Reloaded Friday night. I wasn't sure what to expect - I liked the first one, but I'd heard that this one was a bit more of an action film. While that is probably true - personally I would have cut down several of the action and Zion sequences - I thought there was still a good story to go along with things. I just wish the story had been elaborated on a bit more and the action scaled back. Like the scene where Neo fights all of the Smiths. Who cares? Do we ever doubt he's going to get out of there alive? And it's not as if he even "beats" them - he basically just fends them off and runs away.

At any rate, I liked it. I don't think the rest of the crew did, though. Poo on them.

The Simpsons Archive

Vital stats:
DOB 2/16/79. I'm a web developer at the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. I like lots of old music, including The Who. I spend a lot of time working with computers. And my favorite TV show (when I actually decide to watch TV, that is), obviously, is The Simpsons.

Education:
In May 2002 I officially graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BS in computer science. In 1997 (man that seems like a long time ago) I graduated from Washington Park HS. Yes, I know, that site isn't very impressive, and no, I haven't touched it for several years.

WFS:
One of the best experiences I have ever had was on a trip called Western Field Studies. This is a 33 day adventure throughout the western United States. Students travel on a school bus to national parks, monuments, forests, and places of historical interest and camp out (in tents or under the stars). I was a part of trip 25, which took place in the summer of 1996. A first for WFS was we took along a laptop computer and kept up a web site. That link will take you to the 1996 site, where there is a link to the current site.
